One of the most demanding challenge is in the field of education. Most of the population in India still live in rural and remote areas, so there is a need of those organizations which can help them to get quality education. Various programs like mid-day meal was launched by Bharti foundation for underprivileged children in India. By this program, Bharti foundation aims to provide well-nourishment to kids which is excellent for their physical and mental growth. Problems in Rural education in Indian Schools

It has been rightly said that Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. And it has been noted that after freedom and justice, education is very important. It is only through this education that freedom and justice can be maintained permanently. Majority of the Indians live in villages and lots of schools have been set up in rural areas to educate these children. But all the efforts are in vain as the education system in rural areas is not carried out in the right direction.

Problems in Rural Schools: The main cause of this is that only 50% of the children attend the school and the teachers attending these schools are also less. Quality education is not imparted to the children as there is a shortage of textbooks and even learning matter in these schools.  Extra activities like science exhibitions, workshops, educational fairs, and science fairs are never conducted in these schools. The other drawback in these rural schools is that there are no proper practical labs for the children to perform the experiments in various subjects like biology, physics, and chemistry.

Education is a vital tool that helps to reduce poverty and unemployment. The level of free education India is not acceptable as students studying in private schools are benefitted by superior education. It is necessary to develop a uniform education system for one and all so that all the children are benefitted by it. For this to take place the infrastructure facilities must develop and more finance should be set apart for the rural schools by the state government to develop them. The other factors that must be taken care of include proper and frequent transportation, hygienic transportation, exposure to extra-curricular activities and technology.

Another main problem that occurs in rural schools is malpractices and negligence's to many aspects of education. Thereby, it causes a lot of loss to the children who are interested to study. The children are not encouraged to take part in any extracurricular activities and the quality of teaching is also not good. Sometimes the rural schools present in different locations the parents hesitate to send their children so far and the children are unable to attend the school. Steps to be taken: It is up to the government to take a step forward and provide quality education to the children. They must also take care of their food, shelter, and clothing so that with this powerful weapon "“Education they can transform the destiny of a nation apart from one's personal growth. It has also been strongly believed by the government that the majority of students that contribute to the growth of the nation are from rural areas. Hence, they must be provided with all the benefits like free food, free books, and free education. So that the students excel in life and make use of this education system as a blessing in their life and improve the nation's literacy rate in rural areas. 

Why focus on Girls Education?

I cannot walk. I cannot even stand on my own. However, it was my mother, who believed that education could change my life too. Our neighbors and relatives criticized her for thinking about sending me, who could not even move her hands and legs, to school. My mother never gave up on me. Every day, since day one, she has carried me on her arms to school and brought me back home. My mother always says – ‘your education will bring light into your life.’ I do not feel weak anymore. I feel free.

An African proverb says, “If you educate a man, you educate an individual. But if you educate a woman, you educate a nation.” Girls’ education makes a difference! Here’s why:

Reduce infant mortality: An educated woman is more aware, and an aware woman is more capable to take care of her child from the diseases he/she can get as an infant.

Reduce maternal mortality: An educated woman knows what is good for her, and even if she doesn’t she can always read things and gather knowledge and take care of health or any other expecting woman around her, which helps in reducing maternal mortality.

Improve socioeconomic growth: A girl or a woman who is educated can change the environment and can contribute in changing the entire socioeconomic paradigm around her.

Reduce child marriage: An educated girl knows the consequences of getting married too early and she can reduce it in her surroundings too by getting people aware of the disadvantages of child marriage. Educated girls typically marry later, when they are better able to bear and care for their children.

Reduce population explosion: If a woman or a girl gets even the secondary education, she gets aware of the disadvantages of having more children. It is likely that a literate woman has lesser children and ensures that they are being educated.

Decrease malnutrition: Educated women are aware about the benefits of diet, nutrition, health and hygiene. They ensure that their children have access to proper nutrition to stay healthy.

Furthermore, a literate woman:

-can increase improvement in political process-can reduce domestic & sexual violence.  

-are much abler to influence their future.

-are better equipped to contribute to the family income.

-can contribute and prosper their community.

Swami Vivekananda once said, “There is no chance of the welfare of the world unless the condition of women is improved. It is not possible for a bird to fly on one wing.” It is imperative for us as the entire human society that we not only give girls an equal chance but also promote their welfare, so that we as humankind can reach new heights of development and progress.
